How to Mount With Standoff Screws
How to Mount With Standoff Screws
The back panel supporting your neon sign is made of an acrylic board with predrilled holes designed for the standoff screws included in your package. Standoff screws give your sign a floating effect and keep it firmly secured to the wall.
The Standoff Screw System
Each standoff screw assembly includes the following components, from right to left:
- 1x Standoff cap
- 2x Plastic washers
- 1x Mounting screw
- 1x Standoff barrel
- 1x Wall anchor
Tools Needed
Mounting Steps
-
1
Hold the sign against the wall in your desired position. Use a pencil to mark all four hole locations through the predrilled holes in the acrylic panel.
-
2
Use a drill to create holes at each marked point. Insert a wall anchor into each hole. If mounting on drywall, use drywall-compatible anchors.
-
3
Prepare the standoff screws by removing the cap from each barrel. Turn the cap counter-clockwise by hand to unscrew it — just like opening a bottle. Set the caps and plastic washers aside.
-
4
Insert the mounting screw into the hole at the back of the standoff barrel.
-
5
Place the barrel against the wall over the anchor. Use a screwdriver to drive the mounting screw fully into the anchor until the barrel is firmly secured to the wall. Make sure it does not move.
-
6
Place one plastic washer over each barrel. Position the sign panel so the barrels pass through the predrilled holes. Place the second plastic washer on top of the panel, then screw the cap onto the barrel by hand, turning clockwise, until it is firmly in place. The panel should be sandwiched securely between the two washers.
