How to Clean Your Sign
How to Clean Your Sign
Keeping your sign clean takes less than five minutes and will keep it looking sharp for years. Follow these steps and it will stay bright and dust-free.
Cleaning Steps
- 1 Turn the sign off and unplug it from the wall before you start. Never clean a sign that is powered on.
- 2 Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently dust the neon tubes and acrylic panel. Work from top to bottom so any dislodged dust falls away from areas you have already cleaned.
- 3 For stubborn dirt or smudges, lightly dampen a soft cloth with plain water and gently wipe the affected area. Do not saturate the cloth.
- 4 Wipe the sign down with a clean, dry cloth to remove any remaining moisture.
- 5 Allow the sign to air dry completely before plugging it back in and turning it on.
Do's and Don'ts
✓ Do
- Always unplug before cleaning
- Use a soft microfiber cloth
- Use plain water for stubborn spots
- Clean gently with light pressure
- Let the sign dry fully before powering on
- Clean regularly to prevent dust buildup
✕ Don't
- Clean while the sign is on or plugged in
- Use abrasive cloths, sponges, or brushes
- Use chemical cleaners, sprays, or solvents
- Soak or drench the cloth with water
- Scrub or apply heavy pressure to the tubes
- Plug in before the sign is fully dry
Regular cleaning extends the life of your sign. A quick dust once every few weeks is all it takes to keep the tubes bright and the acrylic panel clear.
